The Art of the All-Cast
To prepare for the ultimate Berkeley Pilipino community catharsis on April 20th–we’re talking about UCB Pilipino Cultural Night 2008, by the way–performers will practice the show the way they’ve been doing it for centuries: dancing in the streets.
Or, rather, Dwinelle Plaza. Plazas are kind of like streets.
Anyway, every weekend, the casts of each skit, dance and musical number do a run-through of the final show, melding together what they should’ve been practicing individually all week.
This is how it goes here in PCN land. For you, performers, keep the following time in mind (like you didn’t get the Facebook invite and multiple e-mails).
Non-performers, feel free to come and ogle! Just not overtly.
First All-Cast this Saturday.
Dwinelle Plaza.
9 a.m., people!
See you there.

PCN BAND NEEDS MORE BAND

A musical message from Rodney Acda:
We are in need of some musicians still. Most importantly we need strings! So if you play:
Violin
Viola
or CelloPlease see if you can try and join PCN band, the greatest band ever! If you don’t play any of these instruments, and know of someone who does, please encourage them to get involved!
Also it never hurts to have more brass or woodwinds so if you play….
Trumpet
Trombone
Saxophone (Tenor, Alto, Soprano)And would like to still participate in PCN band, feel free to come to our next mandatorymeeting, Sunday March 9, 7-9 PM. PCN band shares it’s members with alot of other PCN components so don’t worry if you think PCN band has, too many guitars, or too many pianists, or too many anything. Our musicians will alot of times be onstage or in the wings leaving open seats during some skits or transitions.
Happy PCNing!Musically,
Rodney
Assistant (to the) PCN Band Head

PCN Band Is Sooo Cool
Aww, look! It’s PCN Band Practice, Thursdays at 7pm.

A fountain of talent, really. No lie. Among the few musical selections you’ll hear at the show in April is a perfect, jazzy rendition of “Dahil Sa Iyo.”
Practice location undisclosed to protect band from overzealous fans and flying underwears.

Meet the Writers!
Who is writing PCN???
We are so glad the writers strike is over. We were missing LOST.
But the PCN writers had nothing to do with that, so yeah … not relevant. Um, anyway. Here’s a message from your friendly neighborhood Lendl.
Hey goodlings,
Just a quick reminder, Pilipino Cultural Night Production Class meets
tomorrow 5-7p in 128 Morrison!
This week’s special guests: lovely and talented PCN skit writers Kaegy
Pabulos, Ana Espanola, Alvin David, and Eugene Pascual. They’ll be
talking about their work, the process they took to get there, and all
sorts of cool stuff.
So…wanna know more? Show up tomorrow to meet the writers, do some
activities, and gain some insight into what’s going into this year’s PCN!
many love,
lenny

The “Help Fund PCN” Fund
Show PCN the money! OK, so the PCN Finance person won’t be swimming in your cash like Ducktales. Actually, your hard-earned dollars will help finance the show, sort of. Without dues, there is no show, or cool things like t-shirts, costumes, dvds, sufficient props, publicity to bring people to watch you strut your stuff–and other similar needs.
Your $20 dues must be in AT THE LATEST on the first all-cast, March 8!
Give them to Joanna Gob, the finance person.
That is all.
